Okay. So number two, we have Melanie and Nate. Welcome. How do those signs?
So currently, I'm working on a project to update all of the parking signs in our metered areas. In the Central Business District alone from Clifford Street to Saban, it's gonna be close to a thousand signs. That's not even touching the train stations and State House and the Jewelry District, plus all of the other metered areas, plus all of the other parking signs in the city, plus Nate's traffic signs. So to inventory and then update them is a vast, vast task that we don't have currently the capacity to do in house. So I was given funding for the parking signs last year, and we're working on getting those out the door, but it's gonna take almost It's gonna take more than they gave us.
Like, we won't be able to get everything done. So looking at this in terms of like, yes, we want to update the signs and I can tell you how many signs we've done in the past three years. But in terms of this, in terms of like a six month deadline and a year deadline to update, you know, to inventory and then replace and update, it's just not feasible, unfortunately. I mean, I'd love to be able to do it, but it's just not feasible.
How many how many signs have you guys replaced since the last time we met?
So I don't remember the specific date the last time we were here. But in 2024, I updated 675 parking signs. In 2025, I updated 976 parking signs. And to date in 2026, I've done two eighty.
So it's work in progress.

Yeah. Right now, this includes parking too. There's probably about two thirty five open work orders that we're working towards. I think the fact that we lost several weeks with very little ability to do sign work, and we we also lost some staff, broke this comp and just people shifting to other jobs. But we are catching up on that.
As far as surveys to do we do do some surveys periodically, but to do a comprehensive survey of the city would be kind of intensive. I think if if we do the surveys a lot when we have when we
the request and we're we're still at two thirty five and probably two and a half to four months to get through that considering that we have other stuff besides sign work for that for that particular sign crew is assigned to, putting temporary signs and other temporary traffic controls that they do and so forth. I would say we do do some surveys. There will be an ability to do that. I think probably more so when we get caught up on the backlog of requests.
How many sub signs do you have as some stock? Like on hands, how many?
Yeah, we usually keep about 50. Usually keep about 50 pre made stop signs. Also have pre made do not actually signs that we use frequently.
Because the stop signs are one way signs that those are the ones that we lose more almost every Right.
Right. And we're even doing premade handicap signs and and no parking any time signs, hour off, for example, because that that's that's a frequent thing, just so we don't have to wait for it to be made, but really the backlog is in the installation. I would say so.
You. Neat, I just out of curiosity, how many is it, are we having a vendor installs, you know, it's in house?
Yeah, the installation is in house. We mostly because of the staff switching and also to increase our capability of doing installs with the sign crew. We've done sign making. We've just recently using a vendor to do that.

This gonna is sound weird to like clock a human and how much they can install signs in a day, but like roughly how many signs can DBW install in one day across the city? I know it varies probably I
would say, I mean, because there's always other work that they do. Mostly those temporary no parking signs that we do probably 15 to 20,000 of those a year just because, you know, there are permits and you get a permit fee for that. But assuming that that's a pretty constant demand, would say we do maybe about 10 to a dozen work orders a day and it could be two or three signs within that work order. Varies. It could be one sign as many as 12.
So it could be maybe, you know, a couple of dozen signs a bit.
Sorry, go ahead. And when, if a counselor had as, can a counselor request like, can you like, if we made a request, Hey DBW, can you send us like your work orders regarding signs coverly by neighborhood? Like is that just so we can know, like which, you know, we may not be aware of it, but like which, how many signs are still need to be installed in our neighborhoods. Does that make sense?
Yeah, we would have to look at the case. Currently we use a digital workforce system, Asset Essentials. We started that last year. There was a mapping feature on there. I think we might be able to map that.
That. We just have to make sure we designate in progress. In other words, scientists stuff will be done versus ones that are completed. We'd have to look into capabilities how we map that.
