You wanted to read it into the rec yeah. Resolution in electing an urgent passage by the general assembly of house bill twenty twenty five h dash five six nine nine, senate bill twenty twenty five s dash zero seven nine nine, not relating to taxation, property subject to taxation.
And so I will repeat the the bill numbers. But my name is Linda Gurley, and I am the president, and I should be all. I'm really sorry. I'm just I'm not gonna be able to speak that. Oh, it's okay.
So you can also see on the screen. I don't get a bang for anything
on here. And I've been with the organization for that's now twenty to thirty eight years. Started as an intern, and I ended up being in CPL because the first two months the reason why I say this, and I will be quick. I know that we're busy. I started as an intern, and I came to the codap because I do I was ambivalent about how medicine would work for substance use disorder and behavioral health.
And I fell in love with the modality in two months, so I stayed for thirty almost thirty eight years. It's so effective. So Kodak is the oldest only nonprofit, and largest provider of opioid treatment in Rhode Island, and we've expanded now to provide psychiatric care. So we have psychiatrists, APRNs, which are advanced nurse practitioners. We have psychologists.
We have behavioral health counselors. We also provide medical care now, particularly in the 45 And Little, which is the address for the building there for talking about tonight. And so, again, I'm just requesting your endorsement, actually, to support the tax tax exempt status of Kodak at 45 wherever in. And what we're doing there specifically, we have been incorporated in the land for fifty three years. We are one of the oldest opioid treatment programs in our country, and we've grown so much since then, and our mission now is really just to provide care to individuals, families, and communities so that those individuals, families, and communities can thrive.
And we provide all of the services under one roof at this point. We have about 21,000 square feet. It's pretty exciting. So we have UnitedHealthcare there. We have so all the psychiatric treatment, counseling, etcetera, via medical.
And we provide seven. So now there will be nine medical specialties, including dentistry, infectious disease, primary care, urgent care, etcetera. And one of the specialties, of course, is all substance use disorders and the medicine for all those those disorders. In addition, we have partnered formally at 45 Royal Little to to merge to partner, not merge, to partner with East Bay here in government support. So we have a whole center there for just individuals that come in on here where I don't know if you're familiar with that particular area, but we're right up on we're right again, we're still on the railroad tracks.
That's the thing we do is the railroad tracks. And we're right in our Walmart off of Silver Spring. So people all people are starting to communicate. We opened formally on the. We already have 500 people signing for us.
And one of the most important pieces of this, besides the the medical services that we provide, are the services that are for what they call social determinants of care. But, basically, it's what people need. If people need food, we have a food supply, and we have direct connection to Rhode Island food bank. We have people who live somewhere to live. We have people that help navigate that with us.
We're really excited to have also Rhode Island, full on probation, are utilizing our space to see the folks in that part of town or people that need to understand. You know, my son is suddenly on probation. I don't know what that means. So we have people there from the Department of Corrections that are helping with that. We are also looking to enter the reentry process.
As you know, in fact, many of you may know that we had one of the first programs in the country in the Department of Corrections for substance use disorder and medications. So we do a lot of reentry work, and now we're going to have the Department of Corrections who they're working with us to allow that movement. We are having neighborhood health care. Ninety three percent of the people that we serve are the most vulnerable, and they are the most chronically ill folks. Do we how many allows for that more than athletes, especially.
And so ninety three percent of the folks we serve are Medicaid patients. So Nationwide Healthcare is running space from us. They're right there in the building. Anybody has any problems with their their insurance. The Department of Labor and Training is with us to put his has space there to to provide not just, like, workers' comp issues for the people that come to us in the community, but also for career fair development within the engagement program.
And we have more. I mean, if you I I don't know if you wanna hear the full list. I provided I provided the cleaner fees, and it will tell you all the things that we are doing here now. And so I don't I don't know how much more you would like to hear.

a quick question. So, one, all your work is amazing, and then you so much revenue we do. How like, for the tax meeting, like, how much taxes are you talking about? Do you have, like, a monetary amount that
you you paid before? We've been yeah. We've been paying we've been paying well, last year, we paid 53. $536.98, I think. Okay.
Yeah. Because we you know, it's taken the building is actually the building that was the factory. We bought it from AAA. Oh. And it it was a a factory building, and they created the cards.
Like, I'm older than everybody here, so you won't remember. But there were cards that you get from AAA that were like your credit card that we did. I also those. Oh, yeah.
Yeah. That's exactly. Four. I'm older than that one. So we and we just gutted it.
We took everything out, and they put me in the building beautifully. So it was just a great structure. And two and a half years later, we're ready to roll. And but we've been paying this somewhere between 48 and last year, this 53 and change. Thank you.
