Good evening. My name is Helen Anthony. I'm the chair of the committee on finance, and I'm calling to order a regular meeting. Excuse me. On Wednesday, April 30 at twenty twenty five at 05:30.
On that, can you please call the roll?
Chairwoman Anthony. Present. Vice Chairman Taylor?
Councilor Andy Dog? Present. Councilwoman Graves? Absent. Councilor Sanchez?
We have four present and one absent. We have a party.
Thank you so much. I'd like to thank for attending this evening's meeting. Thank you very much from the city solicitor's office. We have officer who's joining us this evening. We have for the director of his policy.
Deletion, the agenda for is. Resolution authorizing approval of the following change order number two, contract award by the Board of Contract and Supply in accordance with the section 21 through 26 b four of the board of finances. Merit and construction is $98,010, Department of Public Property.
Okay. And who do we have this evening? Well, thank you so much. So who will be presenting on that?
Oh, thank you. This is Sandy.
Can you see? Good evening, madam. Members. So the chamber of next for Thank you. Number two for construction for $98,000 for is the continuation of some work that we did there to complete the.
If you recall, we did some additional work with the AV, the sound system, and the lighting as part of the the second part of the phase one project in the renovation of the auditorium. As they were starting to do some operational training there, one of the things they determined, for example there's there's a number of items to make up that 98,000. Was that they required an additional railing because they used that side door for coming in and out. That railing had never been there. It was a safety concern, which is more of a three step, and it was a landing area.
In addition to that, the control booth requires some conditioned air air air conditioning. It's got very high quality electronic equipment. There was wiring and conduit for a room in the back that they wanna utilize to change the mood or performance. There was an old steam radiator. If you recall, we did the work there on the tan studio, and then it was something a default of steam line or something that ended up actually damaging a lot of the new work that we did there.
So over there, after they repaired all the work and the insurance company paid for it, we asked them to make sure that we go downstairs. If there's any other issues with the steam pipe or any old cap lines, that they do it properly, and this was to do some of that work. In addition to that, there was for operating during for the kids and for the staff to operate during performances. They wanted them manually so that in the back of the stage, they would have this lift that goes up, and it leaves lights around for performances. So they asked if you could put this down as a proof of really a piece of furniture furniture equipment.
There were some additional fire alarm repairs that were needed, and there was additional unused along that we had about $75,000. So we used that 75,000 to offset the repair of the fire alarm and then the remaining balance, which is the 98,000, which is remaining I think there's little bit money still left in that budget. The decision was made to utilize the remaining money that was in that contract. And our budget, I should say, is to include these items in here so that
we got the proper operation of the auditorium. Mister, can
I ask if the insurance company doesn't say if there's a result of this in credit failure? Was that applied to this?
No. It was it was applied directly to the contractors that went in the year and did the work. So we never saw a bill for it, and we never saw the reimbursement. They went the money went directly to the contractor who repaired it.
But they didn't did they pay for the damage that it's called?
just saying brought it back to
Just brought it back to to the renovated status that we had already.
Okay. And is this gonna be the final for phase two?
Okay. So then and then we have to do a more work in phase three.
Okay. Alright. Well, that is fine. Certainly, that's more than we will go back and then come back forth. That's the supply.
So I think. Are Are there there any any questions? Questions? Yes. Councilman.
You. Thank you for coming in tonight. I have a question about you mentioned the railing, and I'm seeing the invoice here for the like, all the fire stuff, but I don't see an invoice for the trailing.
it's the top line. I mean, it's really hard to see. It says install two line galvanized ready at
the top. Oh, okay. Yeah. It's really general to see. Yeah.
really small. Thank you. Yeah. Is that it for your question? Yeah.
Okay. Multiply is looking great. Yeah. It is. But I have a question since that system working properly.
Yes. And there's been ongoing training. There's been at least two to three different trainings that
have happened on all the systems there, and
I've checked in with with the admin there. And everybody feels comfortable with operating it, and we have additional training if they would like it as well. So our understanding is all everything is working, and they're actually using it quite often.
We're pretty much done. Okay. And then the the additional training is for late training by any chance. So if if the city council comes in and uses the space, which probably for councilor. Does our staff who comes in with us have to be trained, or are there people that are managing that?
I think there's people managing that. Then we could talk to Adam or herself or Maggie there. They would be probably the two individuals that I would talk to. Okay.
Alright. Thank you. I think that answers my questions on that. Does anyone else have any comments or questions? Yes.
Thank you. Just to confirm, so this is the you won't see anything else regarding Hope High School phase two
This completes the auditorium, the backstage area, all that work that was part of the second phase. We call phase two. Really, the next phase
is coming up as well. Alright. Thank you. Yeah.
Okay. Any other questions?
