Thank you very much much, madam president. I stand in support of this, ordinance amendment. As you know, we've had, ARPA one, ARPA two, and also we've had the equities, the COVID nineteen equities, which was was also known as reparations. And so we have... What we have before us are the amendments to all those ordinances, and it is...
It equals... The amendment is up. It's $4,400,000, which we are reallocating to to our schools, basically. This is money that is going to be used to help us, the city, meet our obligation under the settlement with PPSD. And I know that all of us feel strongly about supporting our schools and also have talked a lot about underinvesting, and I think this is the right thing for us to do.
I will also say that we did pay particular attention to our... My committee of colleagues in making sure that the money that had been reallocated from the COVID nineteen equities funds, that those were... We did go over them. A lot of them were were... They tried very hard to spend them all in a timely manner, but some of them were not able to be spent.
And I think we were satisfied certainly that those funds could be reallocated. So with that, I'm gonna ask for your support. As you know, these funds have to be encumbered by the end of December this month, and then spent by December 26. So we need... We cannot hesitate, and we need to take the action.
So I would ask for your support.
